It seems " SILVERDALE COACHES" have started to withdraw there routes and bring all there service under on umbrella Thus STEPEND coaches.

From 24 June 2010: changes 17, 32C. Hourly No7 is withdraw from that date.

---------------------------------------------

NEWS from West lothian:

It seems the once BRDG route 501/502 which was pasted to Passengers travel last year, it seems there are now withdrawing the service them selfs.

PM1060877/11 - PASSENGER TRAVEL LTD, 1 BRIAR GARDENS, WHITBURN, BATHGATE, EH47 8LT * Cancellation Accepted: Operating between Blackridge and Craigshill given service number 501/502 effective from 02-Jun-2010.

Question is will Blue bus be able to cover this? especial with there recent changes. I be honest I bet there done this has there want most Blackridge customers to use 800. most times i have blue bus as the busier bus. Razz

Spt will be coughing up more money for routes: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I wonder what you make of this;'
Service 361 between Dunure, Ayr and Straiton will be run by Ayrways Coach Travel Ltd through a vehicle lease contract with SPT at a total cost of £874,800 from 18 July 2010 to 18 July 2015. This means SPT supplies two modern vehicles to be on this route to improve service levels.

McGill’s, is to provide extra buses between Inverclyde and Braehead from Monday after existing operator Harte Buses pulled out of the route.

McGill’s is putting on additional journeys on its 907 Cowal Connector Dunoon to Glasgow service which goes via Inverclyde and Braehead. The move is a direct response to a decision by Harte Buses to cancel its Greenock to Braehead service.

Peter Harte of Harte Buses said: “Following a comprehensive review of our operations, we have taken the difficult decision to stop operating our Braehead Express route. Rising fuel and insurance costs means that we can no longer operate this route profitably. From 24 May, we will concentrate our efforts on providing a service six days a week between Largs and Braehead on our new Mann Fastbus vehicle

Blue bus HAS had changes. it seems that the 702 got withdraw and replaced by a new 501 with 2 buses but will still have a the CRAP hour gap: Blackridge - harthill - whitburn - blackburn - Sky - livingston - asda - St johns

YET if there tighten up there up to 20mins SPARE!!! which could let them operate hourly with 20mins breaks every 2 hour for drivers. it does not take 20mins from bus station - st johns,it only takes 8mins! This could ALL CHANGE!

Its a joke, there could kept the 702, and bring in a new 703 every hour between Whitburn - st johns - bus stations, but still have a hour gap. Blackridge - st johns is still done by 800.

Still no idea about the horsbugh 555/777.

Chair of the Operations Committee and Vice Chair of SPT, Councillor Denis McKenna, said: "I am delighted we've been able to secure the future of these vital services. Like all sections of local government we have limited funds but work closely with the bus industry to find transport solutions where possible."

A contract to continue service 904 East Kilbride-Hamilton-Motherwell-Chapelhall-Harthill-Edinburgh will be awarded to Scottish Citylink at a cost of £25,300 from 18 July 2010 to 15 July 2011. This provides one return journey Monday to Friday.

A contract for service 299 Bellshill station - Strathclyde Business Park will be awarded to First Bus at a cost of £445 per week from 19 July 2010 until 26 November 2010. Interesting the 232 is coming back, albeit slightly different to the commercial service service they had when I used to drive it. I take it Stepend has given up and SPT has stepped in?
