My pendamatic is bolloxed. Front cover missing, and the quid slot is bodged with a bit of wood. 5p one always seems to jam up, but the others work ok. Got it fer nowt tho, and its much better than the shite trays that Worst issue. When I left Cherry tho, Sweepforest tried to ask for my Pendamatic. I told him to GTF as it was mine, and ex Arriva! Gave him the shitty, and broken plastic box back though!

On my service pendi i put £2 coins in the 2p slot because all our fares are rounded up so we never need to use copper and what i get just gets thrown into my cash bag.

I was watching an 8 slot cambist on ebay last week (quite rare i think) but it got a bit expensive for me.I think it ended going for more than £50 which is a bit rich for me.

Ive just been on John Groves Systems website, and made enquiries about spares for mine, which include a cover plate, and the plastic base unit that the coin tubes go in, as mine is badly bolloxed. Looks like a CG 120 does mine. But on the back mine has the badge from a Wayfarer TGX 150. These buggers are nice and chunky and will do some damage if you twat someone in the mush.

A lot of people took the front plate of the pendis because they said they were too heavy to carry about all day, which i think is a shame because i like them with the front plate on.

The base on mine has a hairline crack in the middle(10p position), but the end is well knackered. To stop the slider falling out, there is a bit of wood screwed on. It needs a good strip down & clean, as some of the levers are bent. They will straighten with a block of wood & hammer.

Do you guys have to put £2 coins in with the 50p coins then? I don't see a £2 coin slot, lol.
Most of the drivers around here just seem to use a bag or something instead of these Laughing

I have seen Cambists fitted with a £2 slot. Don't like cambists much. They feel flimsy compared to the brick like Penda

I also prefered the mountings for the Penda's that were fitted to the older tackle such as the 5000's & 6000's and some 8600's ( Pre Barbie bus numbers)

You can quite easily put £2 coins in the 2p chamber, but with them being thicker than a 2p they are a bit stiff to come out but it does work.

Same with the 50p slot Smile I liked the chutes on the old tackle, as you whacked out the change into the hopper really quickly, then simply flicked the bottom of the chute. Bungo pile of change in your hand Smile Was also handy for emptying the Penda at the end of the shift. Just shove your change bag at the bottom of the chute, and empty the whole lot in seconds. They should bring them back!

All my pendo needs is the plastic base to make it usable again, plus a bit of oil here & there...

Got a reply from John Groves Services today. A faceplate is £45 ex VAT and the plastic base is just under a tenner plus VAT...Robbing gits! Watching one on ebay atm

I've had to return mine since I came off service, but we had nice little metal tins with four slots to stick your coins.. you'd fold the lid over and on the back there was a set of clips where you could stick them onto the cab doors of our buses.

Except the MCVs, where you'd have to try and find someplace to wedge it!
