Hijab wearer ejected from bus...

So this was in the news. Driver refused to carry a pax wearing a veil, although another drive gave details on how to complain.

Suppose that orginal driver is now going to get sacked.

I had thought from the headline that the driver may have refused access because he couldn't see the womans face to match it to a pass/card but no.

Ahh well.

If I put a ski mask on, I bet I wouldn't be let on a bus. In fact I would probably get pulled by the police, if I were in a public place.

Walk into a bank with a crash helmet on, see what reaction you get.

It is time that this country forced all these letterboxes to abide by OUR LAWS, and banned all this stupid burkha crap. If they don't like it, well tough, we have to abide by their laws when in their country...

They could ban them so easily under anti-terror laws! Would really p*ss them off, and we could simply tell them YOU BROUGHT IT ALL ON YOURSELVES SO STOP BLOODY CRYING AND DO AS YOU ARE TOLD!

Actually the woman in question was wearing a niqab, which is a veil that leaves the eyes showing, not a hajib, which is a head scarf that leaves the face visible, or a burkha, which is a full net-like face covering.

I'm a muslim and I know that the full veil (the one that covers the face) is not required by our religion. These so called letterboxes are in fact decieving themselves. It's just another example of people taking a religion to extremes. These peoplee give the rest of us bad press. I would hate to think that anyone would think these small minded people respresented the rest of us muslims, they really don't.

Apologies for the rant,

Umar

It is basically blokes who want to treat women as garbage that inflict this dresscode on them, and no doubt if the women even attempt to disobey them, they will probably get beaten. It will be a good way to hide the bruises & marks from the hidings they get

Hi Umkay,

Your spot on. I deal a lot with people from the Muslim community and have nothing but good words to say about them. I hope my little story didn't cause anybody any offence, it was just a light-hearted tale.
